Starting The List

Today I began reading the book The List. The book is about a list that goes around Mount Washington High School on the last Monday in September every year. This list names two of the prettiest and ugliest girls from each grade. Chapter by chapter the book tells us these eight girls' experiences from being on the list. The list is anonymously made each year leaving everyone in the school wondering who writes it. The first chapter starts off talking about Abby Warner, the prettiest freshman.

The best thing about my book is that it's relateable. I can picture myslef in each of their situations. I wonder how I would react if I was in their situations. How would I feel if I was the ugliest freshman? Would being named the prettiest freshman go to my head?

Finishing The Fat Boy Chronicles

The book I just finished reading was The Fat Boy Chronicles. I had to read it for health class. I thought it was really interesting to read some actual journal entries from an obese boy's point of view about his daily struggle. I connected with the main character, Jimmy, because I'm also a freshman who is a new student. He went through things that a teenage boy shouldn't have to deal with such as a murder in his town, his best friend running away from home, liking a girl who cuts herself, and worse of all getting tormented daily by bullies.

The book I am about to start reading is The List by Siobhan Vivian. I chose this book because it takes place in a high school so I thought it could be relatable.
